Glenda, beautiful!! I saw this plant in a friend's garden a few years go and bought seed and planted it. It grew but never bloomed and I never tried it again. I might though as I love fragrant flowers--right now I'm enjoying the tuberoses.

I bought the seeds and didn't plant them. I hope they keep. I'll try next year.

It's good to know it will flower the first year from seed.
Next summer will be even more rewarding if you're able to winter it over.
I haven't checked to see if they have it planted this year at Nathanael Greene. They had a nice one last year and sooo fragrant.

I didn't see it at Nathanael Greene when I went this summer. They had a nice kitchen garden with signet marigold and other flowers in with the veggies.

Here is another picture where the bloom turns more yellow as it ages. I am sitting at my desk right by the window on the porch and I can smell the vine.

I will save seeds if possible so may have some to share...if it makes seed.

I do love it.

I found it at Nathanael Greene Park. The blooms were all up high.

Helen, just found this. I asked about it on one of your pictures threads. Mine blooms up high too, but because it is at the foundation of the porch that puts me up in the 'smelling' zone when sitting on the swing. Mine doesn't look nearly as lush as theirs.

I want to go sometime and find someone working that knows about it. Mark didn't. They must winter it over somewhere or start it early in a greeenhouse. Did you notice if it was planted in a pot or the ground?

I think it must have been in the ground; don't remember a pot anyway. There was not much at eye level. I walked around it several times before I saw it and I was looking for it.
