I'll finish painting my porch. I'll start late so the paint does not have time to cure.

I'll go out and wash my second floor front windows. It counts more if you do the higher ones.

We can all leave our favorite shoes or sneakers out on the back steps and forget they are there.

Do not take an umbrella or rain jacket anywhere today.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lightning woke me up at ~4:30 am. It rained in my part of the city! First time this month!!! It wasn't that much but definitely enough to wet the streets and leave an occassional puddle on the sidewalks.

Haha, I was just reading in some weather pamphlet about all the superstitions about rain. Too bad it doesn't guarantee that it'll pour. It'll pour just enough to knock down your towels, soak your car, dirty your windows, mess up your paint.... hehe
It actually looks like we got a lil' rain here last night. Maybe we'll get some more before the days over. My gardens really need it, although I didn't mind not having to mow the lawn last weekend :o)

I think corgilvr is onto something! I'm going to paint the trim. Okay, not *really* paint it...I'll just mask it off and leave a can of paint and a brush by the door while saying the magic words, "Oh, I sure hope it doesn't rain today."

...and I'll leave the barn door open tonight, guaranteeing I'll be back out there to close it at 2 a.m. in a downpour with lots of scary lightning.

Blame me if nothing happens. I finished painting the porch and watered all day long. But, I did not get the second story windows painted. I am leaving one window completely open when I go out tonight. That is usually the charm.

Oh! oh!, I smell rain and a cool breeze has just started blowing. I leave the window open just in case....

I'll leave sunroof open on my car and start trimming my hedges -- that should clinch it....

I'll join in the fun by making my kids leave their bikes out, and I'll leave my expensive gardening tools on the ground. I'll insist my husband wash my dirty minivan and then I'll invite lots of people over for a barbecue. With all of your open windows I think the whole state should get at least 1" overnight!!!

How pathetic is this? I'm actually grateful for a cloudy, humid day.

The fact that our lawns and plants need rain is only part of it. I'm afraid that because everything is withering, in a few weeks we'll be deluged with heavy rain, and without a "shock absorber", soil will erode and wash away.

Lots of home building going on in the area. I think these builders have paid off Mother Nature.

How can the forecasters be so wrong?

I think we had a little last night, but hardly worth the cloud's effort. Maybe today. I won't take an umbrella with me when I walk to the farmers' market.

The trees are really starting to look stressed. I'm going to buy another soaker hose today. Maybe that will do the trick.

I noticed the streets were wet this morning and heard on the news about some nasty storms that tore through Montco and Bucks and into Jersey overnight... alot of power outages, downed trees into houses, and the Schulkyll Expressway was even closed overnight (out by Gulf Mills if I remember correctly) due to debris on the highway, but nothing like that where I am and across into southern Montco.

Still no rain in Conestoga. But today we will surely have rain because I am taking 3 young children to the Lititz Air Show, and they certainly won't understand if it gets rained out. Precipitation guaranteed!!

poured like mad around 4-4:30 ~~ thunder, lightning, rain and hail. the dogs were crazy. i was thrilled (for the rain) but not the dogs' freaking out and then not being able to get back to sleep. it didn't last long, but the very early news this morning mentioned that 26,000 people were without electricity due to the storm.

i really would like some rain that counts - would make it easier to weed, which i need to do in the worst way.

going out today without an umbrella, as a matter of fact, no driving for me, i'll walk or ride a bike and make sure i'm far from home!

I watched the radar and waited.......
Finally at 1 AM the storms came with rain. We got about .20 inches. About an hour later another storm blew thru, heavy rain and hail that was good for about another 1/2 inch.
Terrible lightning, but there I was at 2 AM, hanging out the windows with my homemade gutter cleaner, 2 poles duct taped together with 2 wire hangers bent into hooks on the end.

Surprised that we got rain. I didn't know the gutters were clogged. Usually when they're clogged, we get a hurricane.
