many people are germinating palm seeds and I have seen and heard of some dangerous things people are doing to generate heat for their seeds. Most palm seeds will germinate faster if provided with a little heat , ususally between 80F-95F. Pictured below is my own seed germinating machine. I've used an old aquarium (but you could use a rubber maid container, etc), put 200 mini christmas lights on the bottom , a rack to set the seeds above the lights (heat) and a lid to keep the heat in. I use a timer , 20 hours on and 4 hours off , for a little variance in temperatures. The seeds are in my basement which stays about 70F year around. you may need to use more lights or less lights to get the desired temps. Experiment with a thermometer to get it right.
