Great minds, etc.; my husband and I were just discussing this. I can remember seeing them almost every time we went to grandma's house. I haven't seen one in many years.

No but got to see a copperhead up close and personal in my family room. Still sitting in the corner with my blankie . Judy

ozarkhelen, I think I'm going to have to shorten my handle, its to long! but I noticed other Helens on garden line, need something so we know who each other is!

I still see them down here in the woods in SW quarter of Stone County. Trouble is I don't get out as much anymore. We have too many boogers in the woods to make it safe.

Well got up to get ready to go to work. Came to check on things on garden web and down on my family room floor was a SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So call my husband and he was to far to get home . So called the neighbor. She didnt believe me at first but came over any way. It had put its head in a glue trap and was stuck. Caught it up in a butterfly net of the grandkids and took it outside and put in a bucket. The man at the extentsion office said was definatly a copperhead. Have I mentioned that I Hate snakes and am afraid of them? So now am wondering if should sell the house or hang on . Judy

Ozarkhelen, my family is from Texas county & mom saw one over the summer...they seem to be disappearing.

Redhotflowermama, My crazy sister-in-law had the same thing happen (she's always getting into crazy messes!), she got up early one morning, walked through the hallway, stepped over what she thought was one of my brother's belts...on the way back through she was going to pick it up & it was a COPPERHEAD! We know it came in through their sliding glass door (they were always leaving the thing cracked). They have since replaced the door with french doors! Have a great fall~
