Local native nursery?

I finally have a date to sit in on a meeting with chamber of commerce and C.A.T.about the proposed downtown woodland walk tourist attraction that's been in the talking stage for 2-3 yrs.so I've been looking for nurseries in Ark. that grow navtives. Found one in London,Ark.that has pretty much has everything on my wish list but that's like a 4 hrs drive. Prices are kinda high but I'm willing to pop for some of the slow growers and larger focal point plants. Idealy,I'd rather grow the easiest from seed for mass planting so more funds can be saved for hardscaping and a sprinkler system but can't find seed source(other than one the France) and very few are coming forward on my post in the seed exchange.

Anyone know of closer native plant nurseries or seed source. I've typed in search request in every configeration I know of.

Might try contacting the Arkansas Native Plant Society for assistance. Go to the website and click on Officers for e-mail addresses.

I replied to your post in the seed exchange. I only have gray dogwood but at least it will bring your thread back to the top. Whatever happened to MOKO from Arkansas that used to hang around here. He knew so much about native plants.
I've grown aronia 'Brilliantissima' (red chokeberry) from seed and it seems to be VERY slow growing but they were pretty easy to germinate. Have you grown them from seed before? I planted two Brilliantissimas that I purchased under my trees and I'm not impressed so far with their shade tollerance. Maybe they'll get better in a few years.

I replied to you on my post to bump it up again. I'm not proud. I'll take as many grey dogwood seeds as I can sweet talk you out of.Email me your addy so I can send you some postage.

I've been "talking" to William(Moko) this week. He still has his memebrs page up so you can email him to say we miss him here in the forum. William was here at the house for a vist about three years ago. Brought me some lovely natives.

I found one seed source for natives(ordered 6 of my most wanted var. yesterday)and 3 mail order sources for plants. Don't know if I'd get in trouble for posting them so if anyone wants the info,email me.
