You'll be jealous. We got a couple inches of rain just a few days ago. Enough so I can put up the hoses until spring. I had several things around the yard that were needing to be watered badly. I bet the rain was very close to you GLD. Did you hear any thunder?

I've been covering my watermelons every night hoping to let them ripen before it's too late. I have picked three more this week and have a couple more that are sooo close. The leaves that were poking out from under the tarp this morning were definitely frost damaged. I didn't cover anything else. I have some annual salvias that still look ok so they'll get another chance for me to remember to dig them up and move them into my garage or something. I'm NOT ready for winter. I still have several things to do outside.

Have you started getting some seed and plant catalogs? I got Thompson and Morgan and requested a couple others. I really enjoy looking through the catalogs even though I do very little ordering.

Oh please say it isn't so. Frost already? I really didn't want to go from summer here in Florida to Winter in Missouri in three weeks. I was really wanting, for the first time in many many years, to see some fall colors. This time in three weeks we'll be on our way. So looking forward to the move. Pam

Missed the frost down here... we had 42*, but that's because or our big hot water bottle. I breathed a sigh of relief because I left my Brug out so I could see one more flush of flowers. The buds are just opening. I did put the elephant ears, etc., in the greenhouse.

Pam, you will get to see fall colors if you can get here in 3 weeks. It's just starting now with the very earliest to change plants along the fence rows. Sumac, dogwood, and virginia creeper seem to be about the first the flame. This was just the first light frost...we usually have a nice Indian summer here.

Hey Millie. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to those fall colors. I have even looked online to see when all the colors peak. Looks like my timing is going to be perfect. Pam
