Opinions vary, but I would suggest that now would be a perfect time to cut it back and/or repot it, as long as your last frost has passed. My suggestion would be to basically do them at the same time if no new growth has shown yet. Afterward, put it in part sun for a couple of weeks while it repairs itself. Once new growth begins to appear, set it in full sun for the remainder of the growing season.

I'm curious: Your profile says CA... where abouts? I am smack dab between San Francisco and Sacramento, with my weather being more like the latter. Our P. caerulea, (which is grown entirely outdoors in the ground), just started blooming last week. I assume you are in a colder climate? Depending on where you are, you may be able to grow this in the ground, as well.

Thanks, Eric. We're near Chico but in the foothills at 2300 ft so it's still cool. I know people in Chico whose vines flowered several months earlier than mine. I would put my vine in the ground but the best sun happens to be on my deck, of course. I repotted it and am eagerly awaiting new growth.
