I don't know about the plants. We have already had some cold but not this cold. Surely the plants are in winter mode although we did have low 70s last week. I remember another year when it was bitterly cold in mid December - my diesel jelled in my truck. Then the rest of the winter was not bad. Hopefully the whole winter will not be extreme. Stinky Beau got to stay in the house two nights. The little cat came in but cat brain can't figure out how to stay in all night. It wakes me up and wants out. In the morning it runs in stays a while and wants out. Listless Honey is taking his blankets out of the dog bed and running around in the yard, biting Beau and doing figure eights. I guess last summer when I told the vet he had no energy was due to his being a hot dog.

I've been letting my dogs stay in a lot. Not sure they have all their winter fur yet and they scratch on the door to come in. They always stay inside at night, even in the summer. They would bark all night long if I left them out.

I'm wanting to mow my yard again before winter to chop up the leaves so I'm hoping to another warm day.

I'm hoping for another warm day too. For about 5 years in a row, the 2nd weekend in December was in the 60s and that is when I planted the tulips for the spring but that has not occurred for the last several years.

I still have some crocus bulbs not planted. Tulips would not last here - voles. I love red emperor with black centers.
