I am not sure what the rooting of side buds involves. I am not even sure what the concept is. Do you know any futher information about this proceedure?

I did try to do some spring grafting. As I recall I did this in early April. The object was to use scion wood that came from Australia. Of course the scion wood thought it was fall. My roots definitely thought it was spring. I ended up with very confused grafts. In my particular case none survived. I think it would work but I was new at grafting then.
