passiflora incense - dying lower leaves

Hello Helpful Gardeners,

I bought a passiflora incense earlier this season to accompany my passiflora caerulea from Brushwood Nursery. It arrived looking fine. I planted it in a similarly sized pot as my passiflora caerulea, and it is actually growing okay through a somewhat diseased lilac (syringa x chinensis, a.k.a. 'Lilac Sunday'). However, the leaves lowest to the ground keep getting "burned out" and I keep picking them off. Is this something I should worry about, and if so, would anyone have any feedback on what the problem is and how to treat it, please?

Thank you!
