I've had high hopes for Rozanne after reading so many positive comments about it but I didn't think to check where those comments were coming from. It's supposed to be "heat tolerant" but maybe that's a relative term. The only geranium I have is Biokovo which has been very tough for me (lives through neglect) but not very showy. The flowers are almost a dirty white from a distance rather than light pink and usually sparse. I rarely water it since it's not one of my favorites but it's made it through several of our hot dry summers.

The MO Botanical Gardens site has a "Plants in Bloom" feature where they have charted when many of their perennials and shrubs are in bloom. There's an x for each week so you can see the gaps where they've stopped blooming in the heat. St. Louis may be a little cooler in the summer than some of us in the Ozarks but still plenty hot. They have more than 30 different geraniums. I saw Nimbus, Biokovo and Rozanne on the list but not Freckles. Looks like Rozanne performed much better than Biokovo or Nimbus for them.

Since I'm an avid native plant enthusiast, I can't help but put a plug in for the perennial Geranium that's native to the Ozarks, Geranium maculatum. It will grow and bloom easily in this part of the world with little care. It has a gorgeous flower and very attractive foliage and looks really similar to the varieties you mentioned in your post. I haven't tried growing it yet, but, as with most of our natives, it will probably thrive since it's been adapting to this environment for thousands of years!
