Mine actually do have a very pleasant scent. I was surprised, as I had these at a different house I lived in and they did not. Go figure. We are talking "blue crown" right?

I have an X Alato and mine has the sweetest scent, it draws every japenese beetle in the area :(

An interesting thing about P. caerulea that I've noticed: The flowers are open for two days, but they are only fragrant the first day. YOu can tell by the position of the stigmas: if they are facing down, the flower is newly opened; if they are erect and pulled together, it is the second day, and the flower will close at sundown or even late afternoon. Try smelling the newly-opened ones! The scent reminds me of (of all things) "Kool Pops" - those freezer bag popsicles we used to eat when we were kids...:)

Mine remind me of root beer. They're really neat plants.
