Aww not fair Helen. I was stuck inside all day. We had company that left after dark. We all went outside when they were leaving and I couldn't believe how warm it still was. : (
Today shouldn't be too bad and Monday is supposed to be in the upper 50's, sunny and not much wind. Not quite as warm but still sounds like a good day to be outside for this time of year.

Our daughter was down so my granddaughter and I took a long walk over the farm. We got so warm, we had to remove our jackets; it was wonderful.

We saw two musk rats! That was a first for both of us. Couldn't get the rascals to reappear for a picture though.

Today should be a good working day. I may try to start my chainsaw again.

Were the muskrats near water Glenda? I can't remember ever seeing one except for the ones my dad trapped when we were kids. He found a mink this fall on the road down around Republic. Those are unusual to see also.

christie, we saw the first one in one of the twin ponds and then walked around to the other pond and something jumped out of tree laying in the edge of the pond and then jumped up about three feet in the air maybe 4 feet from where he dived in. I couldn't see anything but a flash of color so assumed it was a muskrat. Once they went under water that was it. I did a little research and find that the den hole is under water on the banks. I guess the overcast day was lucky for us. The research says they are mostly nocturnal.

It was a family firewood cutting day at our house. Daughter and SIL came down from Tulsa with the 3 granddaughters, other married daughter came (Hubby had to work) and unmarried son. They all pitched in and we made a day of it. The girls and women pulled and stacked brush and helped load the truck. Then at the house the men split and stacked it in the woodshed. DH and I would have taken five or six days to get that much done by ourselves so it was a real help.

I know what a great help that can be. When we had so much damage from that bad ice storm, our yard was covered with tree limbs and downed tree tops. Our son and his whole family pitched in and worked all day. I lost track of how many pickup loads they hauled off. We would still be working on it!
