So are you wanting to trade some seeds from your chinese pepper for Bhuts?

I have listed in my posting what I have to trade...or I will buy them. Whichever someone will do. Please,I want to get these asap..the season is getting shorter by the day to grow them for the summer.

I have found that Chile Institute,last night at 11pm, but EVERYTIME I tred to download their 'catalog / order form,...my computer locked up!
I cant even see what they have to offer...and how much their seeds cost. I see they have the Bhut Jolokia..but I cant access their site for some reason. Well I cant download it to see the catalog/order form. Others here are offering their help...so maybe I can trade my chinese pepper seeds for some Bhut's. There are some nice people in here, compared to other garden forums i have visited.

I'm excited to hear what those 'magical' yellow licorice peppers from China (yellow) seeds will yield this year. I've heard through the grapevine they produce nice C. Annuum wax banana peppers. How nice after insulting so many here during trades and calling us cheats/scams/etc.

It has been a year. I have traded away all my original seeds. I wouldnt post here now,except I saw your 'smartass' comments. I have bigger things going on in my life right now, so do most of us! And dont have time to post now. Thats why I am not posting. My life doesnt revolve around pepper seeds anymore. My licorice seeds came up and are giving my plenty of red heart shaped peppers right now. Maybe yours reverted to its parent plants? I have no idea. I dont get into genetics and all that. They are wild seeds. I assume they would all come up as what I got. But I guess they are reverting to their parents. I have no idea. And if I could delete this request, I would..but I have no idea how to do that. Since you have so much free time, feel free to get it deleted.

Well here's the 'licorice' pepper. :) Looks like a banana/anaheim to me. I didn't make any mistakes sowing seeds.

Hey does anyone have some extra ghost pepper seeds i am just getting started with my in home garden and would love to add this to my collection i just started yesterday i went out and bought some tomato seeds and i have a pepper plant that was given to me i also harvested some green pepper seeds for another day any seeds would be greatly appreciated

This Spring we had ordered some Bhut seeds from a company. Planted them, ohhhh and ahhhhed over them. Beautiful plants out on the deck. Peppers started growing and we were so excited. Well, come to find out we are growing very nice looking HABS!!! Have read you have to be careful of some companies sending the WRONG seeds, now we have learned. Does anyone have any REAL Bhut Jolokia seeds they would like to get rid of so we can start again? Growing these peppers are so habit forming and would love to try our hands at the REAL thing!

I too would be interested in some authentic Bhut Jolokia seeds if anyone has some directly from NMSU Chili Institute. I have about 18 Bhuts growing on 3 plants I got at the Houston Hot Sauce Festival 3 years ago. Right now I plan on building up a surplus of seeds while preserving the leftovers. I may be able to part with a handful in the near future, but right now I'm just enjoying looking at them. The have a very course texture and when you handle them they feel like an egg.....without the insides! Each pepper tends to take on it's own shape as well. I know everyone seems eager to grow these plants, but realistically and other than a novelty, these peppers are almost hallucinogenic (probably hence the word 'ghost)' in their heat. Probably not best consumed by those with ulcers, but then.......... just a little Ghost Story!
