Looks like no bloom this year. The site looks like it may be too shady for peony. It also looks to be too close to the house. Al

Thanks Calistoga, I followed directions on the package which called for shade and it wasn't until after reading up on peonies that I learned they like sun. Hoping they don't turn out too leggy. I'll probably end up moving it further away from the house once it's alik hardier, I'd hate to move it too early and traumatize it

Wait until fall to move it , and don't worry about it getting leggy this year, Next year we start over! Al

That's the beauty of peonies--as long as they come up in the spring you didn't do anything too bad! Like Al said, just wait for it to die back in the fall and move it, it'll reward you with blooms probably next spring.

Just a little update post pic to show the progress...still no blooms in sight even though this one area does get a good 4-5 hrs of sunshine..keeping my fingers crossed!
