I don't know much about passion flowers. I am growing a vine that I believe is incarnata that I ordered last year from edible landscaping. There is a site called Viable Herbal Solutions that says to make sure that your plant is incarnata and not caerulea because caerulea is poisonous!?!? You might want to check it out.

ninecrow - what are you doing with the seeds? I only have one tiny caerulea going now but would like to start more, and since it's passiflora, fresh seeds that haven't dried are the best bet always. If you have some fresh and are interested, perhaps we can trade?

Rian - Perhaps the landscaping company meant that the leaves of caerulea are poisonous whereas incarnata leaves are commonly dried and used as a herbal remedy. Everything I've read says caerulea are edible but the flavor is insipid unless baked in pastries and such where it brings out a blackberry-like flavor. I've never tried that one myself though.
