It would help to know what the variety is. If it's a cold hardy type you might be able to get away with allowing them to go dormant in a garage or basement. I don't think a young hardy variety could withstand a zone 5 winter inground. Maybe an established one could but I'm not even sure about that in your zone. If they are a tropical variety they need warmth and light.

I'd take cuttings, and plant them in small pots (say 3") when they root. If the cuttings grow too much, you can just cut them back. You can keep quite a bit of small plants under a 4 foot plant light. Just snip the tendrils to keep them behaved, and keep your eyes out for spider mites.
