I don't know really if they need to be soaked every time. I usually do it just because rarely do I take seeds from the fruit & put them right into the ground.

I *think* the whole oj thing is to trick the seed into thinking it's been sitting in a rotting fruit for awhile.. Supposedly there's germination inhibitors in the shell that need to be leached out.

Thanks for the link. Hopefully the fruit will ripen. I have no idea if these plants cross pollinated. They were all very close to each other. It might be interesting to see what, if anything, grows.

karyn1, you might try to see if a few germinate in peat with the baggie method. Just put clean seeds in the baggie of moist peat. I have germinated old seeds with that method. I think it took a month for germination.

Waiting for fruit to ripen is pretty much like the old "watched pot" saying.. I have 3 more hanging.. Every day I give them a little tug & every day.. No Joy.
