Unlike most passion vines, this one doesn't mind some shade in the summer. I found it grew better and looked healthier than when it was in full sun. The leaves showed signs of iron chlorosis all summer, a foliar micronutrient spray may be helpful, but I didn't try this as I am trying to see how the plant performs in normal garden conditions.

That is good to know. I have a P. manicata that behaves the same way. The part that gets more sun looks chlorotic, the new growth has grown away from the sun and is tucking itself into a bush and looks great. I hope my 'Crimson Tears' does as well as yours.

I am growing some passion fruit this year and want to plant the best varieties for fruit. Which ones do you suggest for Central Florida?

Your best choice for fruit production with the least care would be any of the edulis flavicarpa (yellow) varieties. Edulis (purple) will grow, but subject to nematodes, so best in containers- production not as high as flavicarpa. Decaisneana if pollinated with caerulea produces large fruit with a sweeter flavor than edulis. I've got about 30 other varieties that have fruited, but most aren't productive enough, or have flavors that leave a lot to be desired. One very good flavor is Byron Beauty crossed with Inspiration. Produces hollow fruit if not hand pollinated though.
