Germinating Windmill Palms

I picked up a bunch of seeds off of a windmill at my apartment about a month ago in hopes of germinating them. I soaked them in water for 48 hours and put them in tupperware containers with a paper towel underneath and on top and just a little damp. I did this on feb 13 and today(march 22) I noticed one is starting to germinate. So, my question is this...What do I do now? Should I put it in a small pot with potting soil? If so, is the shoot that's popping out of the seed the root or stem? Which direction should it be placed in the soil, up or down? Thanks in advance for any advice.
