We own a charming 1930 cottage that had a 1980 addition plopped on top of it. The space the addition gives is great, but the designer gave no thought to the lines of the house. Any ideas on how to correct, conceal or minimize the addition? We are willing to make some minor architectural changes but at this point are not wanting to take the whole roof off and retruss it. I'm attaching photos - first one shows how the addition comes off of but doesn't continue the line of the roof. The last photo shows the view coming down the hill past our house and the problem with the aesthetically incompatible angles of the original roof and the addition. Help!!
