Seedlings under CFL's

I have to 26w CFL bulbs that are equal to 100w each over my pepper seedlings. My question is should I have them as close as I can get them to the seedling's? The lights are also 6500k which have some heat but not much. I'm curious about when that get taller will the light be enough to keep them growing for another month or two until they can be put outdoors in the daytime. I have a total of 5 plants and there still in a jiffy greenhouse.

The heat off of a cfl is pretty minimal. I have an 8x26watt that i keep as close to the plants without touching them and slowly raise it as the plants get taller. Have never had a problem with burning...yet.

I've got the 35w version on my modest lettuce raft and ive not seen any scorching with that

Yes, get them as close as you can without touching.

The color temp (6500K) has nothing to do with heat.

Oh ok all I knew is that "kelvin" is a unit of measurement for temperature. Thanks for the the info.
