Plastic or rubber snakes.... may sound silly, but it worked like a charm for me.

I used to have a large blueberry bush in my back yard which the birds would nearly always strip clean before I had a chance to harvest the berries. A family member suggested I hang rubber snakes in the branches to keep the birds away and it worked great. The birds would fly all around the bush - even dive at it - squawking their heads off at the "snakes"....but they left my berries alone.

It was a cheap and effective solution. I purchased several brightly colored rubber toy snakes that I found in the toy section at Dollar Tree. If you don't have a local dollar store you could probably find them in the toy section of Walmart or Kmart. Our local Dollar Tree carries those toy snakes year 'round. Of course, they might scare the heck outta your customers!
