peerhaps millipedes which are removing your dead seeds - either presprout in small pots then plant or seed into the garden when the soil warms a bit.

are you the only person in the US who is having a cold spring????

where are you.. and why do you have veggie seed already planted ... except for the extreme south.. i would say cold soil is a bigger problem to germination.. rather than blame any soil bug for the slowness of germination ... ...

i think you are way to fast to find a reason other than your cold soil ...

if your seed hasnt sprouted.. what would a root bug be after??? there arent any roots if the seed hasnt sprouted????

I actually planted them 3+ weeks later than my local county extension office recommends. But, we have had colder than usual weather. I planted peas last year in a different location and these worms weren't there. I did have root maggots a few years ago and they did go into the seeds to eat them, but these look more like worms than root maggots. I will try to get a few pictures of them. I am still pretty new to gardening, so I am learning a lot and have a lot more to learn. Thank you for the help and replies :)
