It will be your job to bring pest free plants into your apartment.....and that can be challenging. You'll have to learn what spider mites, scale insects, mealybugs, and more look like so that you can carefully inspect each plant before you bring it home. Cyclamen mites (for example) , common to African violets, are practically invisible but the signs of their presence can be identified.

Even then, there's no guarantee that eggs might not be tucked away in the nooks and crannies. The soil may harbor fungus gnat larvae and other critters.

Please know that the sunlight inside your apartment can never be the same as the bright light outside. Many herbs and flowering plants don't make happy houseplants, but there are plenty that do. Shop in the houseplant section of the garden centers and not the outdoor selections.

insure all plants are 'clean' when brought in ...

sterile everything you use ... pots.. tools etc .. including your potting media .. see link ...

and keep the windows closed ...

and i wish you luck.. but understand.. that a lot of food plants.. as well as large flowered plants.. require a lot of light intensity ... so its going to take a lot of experimenting to figure it all out... including banks of lights to add supplemental light.. for you to succeed ...

the plants you already have.. are low light tolerant.. but the dream list is not ...

and do keep in mind ... the cost of the lights.. in thinking you might be growing food plants cheap ... took me a while to figure that out ... lol

i think you are in good shape thinking about this.. but its just about the last variable you will have to perfect.. to succeed wildly ... and you might find other forums to figure out other variables.. beyond this one

good luck ...
