Where to purchase small cycads

Hi all. I'm a new poster here.

I've loved cycads for a long time, but never had the place to start a collection. Now I do. I'd like to get started with a few small plants (5 to 8). What's a good source? I searched this forum and and Mr. Chumbleys name came up. Any other recommendations?

Thanks a bunch.

I see small king sagos at Home Depot all of the time.

Look all you want, but Mr. Chumley is he best place you will find. Not to mention the fact that if you call him, he will fill you with knowledge.

Thanks for the referral, xerophyte_nyc. I try to have as many species as possible available, and all our plants can be shipped to all states.

I have talked to Maurice Levin on the phone and he has the best prices and some very rare cycads.

I didn't think that advertising was allowed on Garden web.

In sum, if at least part of the reason you are posting is to let people know about your business, it is an advertisement. This is exactly what our paying advertisers are trying to do: get people to their site or business.

FWIW, I was making a suggestion, I have no affiliation with any companies I may mention on my posts, I am not involved the horticultural industry other than as a consumer.

Many thanks for the great suggestions. Florida wannabe: You were right. Robert Chumley is a great resource (and a real gentleman to talk with).

I've also made some other great contacts for my next trip to California.

    Thanks

Mr. Chumley send us free extra cycadssssss- double the number of cycads we ordered plus free shipping and the caudex size are larger than expected. Over all money's worth is more than double. I had never encountered such generosity in all my years of buying. Mr. Chumley is very accomodating and helpful just like what the others said.

Bob is the best out there, you'll learn a ton talking to him. I took a photo of his huge variegated Cycas taitungensis on my last visit to the Chumley Estate.
