Hi Mona. I think your awesome for doing this. When I was around 4-5 years old, my father had a good friend that was also a co worker. He was in his 70's and never had been married or had any children.

He had asked our neighbor if he could put in a small vegetable garden, and he took me along and showed me how to plant seeds, weed, water, and pick the vegetables.

We both really enjoyed our time working in the garden. I truly believe that my love from growing plants started here. Even if your grandson loses his patience with the plumeria, try something else. Maybe another flowering plant that will produce flowers with a fragrance. When I was a kid zinnia flowers were one of my favorites.

Hi Andrew. What an awesome friend you had in that man! Sometimes, adults don't realize the lasting impacts they can have on children. My grandson has done quite a bit of gardening with me. Moonflowers still remain his favorite and they're easy enough to grow. Not only that, they draw the sphinx moths which did a good job of pollinating some of my plumeria last year. These are my first seed pods! I'm going to have lots and lots of moonflowers this year. :)

Well, from the soil line, apprx 13 inches, give or take a bit.
One of our other forum members almost had a replacement. Almost. I just figure if you're going to lie to someone then you better make it good, right? So please take note of the curvy figure in the photo. lol

I had to put everything back in the greenhouses for the "thunder sleet" and freeze the other night and haven't been able to look yet.

K - we got the sleet but not with the thunder. If there has to be sleet, I did so want to have thunder sleet! :)

But, that's ok. I've come to the conclusion that I really don't want to get caught being deceptive, and I do think it would have to be an almost exact replica to not be noticed.
