what ate my squash plants

I need help. I'm asking every gardener I know about this. I have a few squash plants in my raised beds (2 feet high). between noon and 5 this afternoon, 5 plants were eaten. I'm trying to find out what ate them. my yard is fenced (6 feet high cedar fence). they don't look like being eaten by any bugs or worms. it's not cut worm because there're still stems left. not squash bugs because they were healthy plants. by the way, two tomato plants were eaten from a different box that is about 8 feet away.
I showed the pictures to a guy at garden works, and he was sure it must have been deer. he was positive that deer can jump over 6 foot fence. but i'm not quite convinced.

looks like i can only upload one picture. I really hope someone have an answer to this. It's very frustrating. I have no idea of what I'm dealing with.

Thanks for reading.
