I've only rooted them using a heat mat, which i estimate took maybe 3-4 weeks to root. On one of my cuttings, i had an inflo 2 months after rooting. It was growing overwinter in a south window on a heat mat. I know they are heat-loving plants so it may take a long time to root without a heatmat.

Hi Delrunner.
Not totally sure, but in 2007..had a 4' cutting given to me in Septemeber. Was in my So/West warm window all winter, no heat mat. Finally leafed out in March..watered outside in April warmer longer leaves and fed. . So thats almost 6 months. Got a great plant.

Now I just started a cutting, Kimo, a month ago..Top below claws is started to redden. Squirrrels broke the plant.

Just got a couple more cuttings from MG, also on a table in that same window, in one gallon containers. Will get warmer will eventualy be able to go outside.. I would say probably 3 months or so..hard to tell.

thanks for the sharing of information. I have them out during the day to get sunlight, then I move them on top of the fridge. hopefuly that will work for a heat source.

Hi
thats a good idea on top of the fridge. I think its just depends on the plant, reds and pinks seem to be harder for me to root..Yellows faster.. But I had a India cutting took 6 months to get leaves, was outside in heat.of the yellow family. Some can root in a couple months..Last year I had pretty good luck rooting several. Hope will have that same luck this year..good luck on yours. Don't water in the middle, only on the outside rim if needed.

I wanted to check the progress of my plumeria rooting so I potted them in a 2Litter transparent soda container so i can see the roots growing. I so want them to grow this year, last I bought two but no such luck.
