In a few weeks I am going to be taking a tour of the Carolinas with the intent on seeing some of coastal plain vegetation. While I expect to spend a ton of time further inland at places like Congaree, I was just wondering where a good spot in South Carolina would be to see wild/naturally occuring Sabal Palmettos. This far north I would imagine that they stick close to the coast, which I also imagine is fairly well developed and thus heavily planted and cultivated at the expense of native vegetation. Is there a state/local park or such or anywhere really where I can find some palms in habitat?
