Bad Kitty! Flushing the pots was a good call. I think if you got all the urine out they should be ok. Just dont water them again until they start leafing out. You may want to poke a few holes in the tape for better air flow.

I would take all of the soil off ( bareroot) And start with fresh soil. The toxins that have settled in the roots are in , but if you change the soil, you might have a better chance of their survival. Just my thoughts....

Good call Laura, just what I was thinking! I would take all the soil out & start over.

I had that happen to an indoor plant & after that I started putting aluminum foil on the pots like you did with tape. If you have to take the tape off for any reason try foil, cats don't like it either.

You will need to cut the rotten branch, have you done that yet? Sterilize your shears in between cuts. Good luck, please let us know how they do!

avolloc - I've had mine pee in pots in the winter but mostly the big pots. It hasn't hurt the plumeria (urine is a fertilizer), maybe just lucky, but it has killed other plants (eg.brugs). I use these mats with points on them that are sold to keep animals off. They come in squares but cut them in half. Foil is much cheaper though so will try that as more plants go into big pots. Peg

Cats and dogs also do not like balloons! Our furniture is filled with duct tape and color coordinating balloons which keep the whippets from having an indoor track! roxanne

Sorry to hear about your sick plants! They could be reacting to too much moisture during their dormant period rather than the nature of the moisture. Try as Laura suggests and replace the soil with a dry soil and put the plant outside (away from cats) if possible.
