Cherish your green anoles. They are entirely beneficial--eat lots of bad bugs for every dragonfly they catch.

It seems anoles eat mosquitoes too....

If you're set on keeping the lizards down, get a cat. More effective (and generally quieter) than a shotgun.

C'mon, Dennis. No one should be siccing their cat on beneficial and harmless anoles.

No doubt rhizo1! I get tons of lizards too... until my damn dog kills them! Hardly ever see a nice size one... because of her!

I have mostly cuban anoles which eat the native greens
but also have knight anoles and iguanas which eat plants and get gigantic lol Lots of geckoes but none sell insurance but do invade the house lots of frogs, toads ,both native and exotic mostly the accursed cane toads which eat the natives ,cause my water garden to crash. and of course are poisonous.
I count my blessings that so far have no Monitors ,pythons ,anacondas though once found a green tree python!! Remarkably still have LOTS of mosquitoes and bugs in general??

The lizards are there because they have enough food to survive. Food, meaning insects. So they may eat some beneficial ones, but overall it's a good thing to have them. Your garden is working towards being a balanced ecosystem, so let nature take its course.

i also just realized my cantaloupe and watermelons have no snail damage
something i have had troubles with in the past with lettuce, peppers, and lots of other stuff...
and actually, snail damage is rarely seen at all now.

i am guessing they are on the lizard menu :)
