--lights--

i had gone to the mainland a month or so ago and bought a 24" fixture, and a 2-20 watt bulb pack. now, it seems like any time i'm reading about lighting set-ups, people say they use 40-watt bulbs. is it possible to get 40 watters for a 24" fixture?---i can't seem to find any on the net. i know a lot of you are saying, just go to lowes, or home depot, wal mart, or wherever and check it out. the thing is, i live on an island which means a $23.95 ferry ticket plus a day of wages. we do have a tru value hardware store on the island, but they only had the 20 watters. THEREFORE, i wanted to have it lined out as to what i want, so that i could get someone else who is going to the mainland to pick up some 40 watters for me, but i'm not sure they exist.---do they?

DO I NEED 40 WATTERS? or will 2-20's suffice?

also, since one of the two in the home depot pack happened to be no good(bummer, hard to return), i went to our tru value and got a replacement----silly me, now i have one cool white (appears yellowish) and the other is the bluish type............. is it fine to be using both? is one type better type than the other? i'm hoping the two will provide different light spectrums and will be ok. i guess unless i get some answers here, i'll just carry on as i am now. thanks for your patients and answers---
