Hello,
I have a bunch of T. Fortunei seedlings and I am wondering how I should protect them in the winter here in zone 6 Massachusetts. I also have one older T Fortunei with about a foot of trunk that I need to protect. Oh and last but not least a needle palm that is about a foot tall overall. I need a way to protect all of these palms, but I don't want to go overboard because eventually I want them to be able to fight the winter on their own (when they get older and are more like trees). Any advice and help would be great! Thank you!

The Trachy seedling definitely need to be inside protected from a normal Zone 6 winter. If you have some place that gets cold but not with deep frost, that would work too (enclosed porch, garage, attic, etc). Same with your larger Trachy (still too small). The Needle palm can go through the Winter in the ground (NOT in a pot), and will still need protection of some kind in Zone 6. Not what you wanted to hear, I'm sure.
