Off Topic: Severe Weather for Oklahoma Tonight

****Posted this for Friday May 31st****

Sorry everyone for using this forum as a weather announcement service since only a few of us are from OK but tonights potential for severe weather including large hail, strong winds, flooding and tornadoes is at an all time high today and tonight.
One of our local Tulsa meteorologist posted this on facebook,"The severe weather threat today is as high as we've seen all year."

In addition to all the OKC tornadoes we just had an EF2 touchdown last night a few miles from us and he is saying tonight is a higher threat. Thats no good!

Allen, Kenny, Robert, keep a watch out and let all your friends and neighbors know.

Central and Eastern OK have been given a TOR-CON rating of 7 which means a 70% chance of tornadoes. I believe we had a 6 when the Moore tornado hit.

Thanks for the update, Mike. My family lives in Perkins, and my wife was visiting yesterday when the tornadoes touched down in that area. But she is back is DFW now. So, I'll let our families know if they don't already.

    No problem spiro.

The national weather service just issued a PDS, Particular Dangerous Situation. They rarely issue these. The Joplin and Tuscaloosa storms happened on a PDS day.

Off-topic regarding site member safety doesn't bother me one bit. Used to live in "tornado alley ",myself.

The storm is just hovering over Kenny and Allan 2 tornadoes in that area right now. Tulsa is dodging them right now.

I've been very worried about y'all out there. We have had the TV on and watching all evening. I hope Kenny and Allan will post as soon as they can.

Yeah, i think it was small this time, but it came pretty close again. We started getting loud hail and i suddenly realized that i left one of my brugs out. I had to run out and grab it.

    Hope, Kenny is alright.

Oh Allan. gotta save those Brugs. I'll send kenny and email. We got lucky again and the storms died off. That big one you got should stay south of us.

Yeah, it looked like it was going to miss Moore completely, but then decided to make a complete right turn. Maybe it's trying to tell me that I need to move.

    Hi guys,

I'm back. Ya I had to evacuate when I saw the tornado by Minco was heading toward us. Since there was one already north of my house. We evacuated south to Norman to be out of the storm's path. The road was chaotic as people turned a 2-lane road each direction into a 3-lane south bound.

That wasn't the fun part. As I was about to enter Norman, they issued a tornado that's heading to both Moore and Norman lol. So we headed east towards Choctaw. Then as the storms up north weakened, we decided to go back north from there. Along the way, they announced tornadoes were no longer a threat so we stopped at the gas station just southeast of Lake Stanley Draper and rode the storm out.

I'm back in my house now. A lot of plumie pots got tipped over and they're all under the porch and against the wall. Ugh stupid wind, I heard the wind was 70 mph when it came by.

    Kenny

So on the way back to my house, this is what we ran into LOL.

Glad you're alright Kenny. I actually thought of driving to Norman to get out of the way, but i figured that a lot of people probably had the same idea. Then the storm made that right turn and I was glad that I hadn't gone that way. Anyways, I'm glad that a few tipped pots was the worst that you got.

Glad you are both OK!! Kenny hope you didn't have any damage.
Allan. the storms never seem to stay going once they hit about 10 miles west of Tulsa. I had my go bag ready and once the northern storm got here it just died.

    You guys be safe.

Last update. 5 people lost their life and 50 injured. Amazed it was that few. I think most where caught in the vehicles. downtown OKC received 11.5 inches of rain!!!

My family in OKC left the city and was OK. Should be a nice day today.

I heard a little earlier that there were seven adults and two children that died. Even with that number, as you said, I'm amazed that the numbers were that low. However, I was also amazed that the numbers from the 20th were in the twenties and not the hundreds.
