I think it is the new growth color for the stem/stalk of that particular one. I have one that has grown that color all this mild winter. Atleast 4 inches during the past 5 months. The color of mine however is a rainbow, not all red. roxanne

I was thinking Scott Pratt but I have many that color leaves that have never bloom yet and I am glad that they might be different colors and not all red. Barb

I just got this seedling from a dark pink parent from Fuzzy.... It is waking up with dark leaves and the whole stem is very dark so I'm hoping for something colorful. The seedlings I saved from my germinating efforts last year I tried to keep the ones with burgundy leaves or red veining (although I kept a couple very green ones for variety. I love that they are unique.

Thanks for all the input, I guess it's a waiting game to see what they will be when and (if) they bloom...would love for it to be a more colorful flower.

I would say the chances are good. Let us know when it blooms.

disneyhorse, did any of your seedlings bloom yet? I just planted a bunch of seedlings from a dark pink parent as well and curious what colors will result?
