I would not chop. Do the egg thing. I have 3 rooting right now that are not that beefy as yours and with the egg they are all leafing and inflo growing and look real happy. Got them started on april 15th. However, I have read Makaha Sunn (the AKA I forget) is hard to root and will have a different look in your area. Good luck, roxanne

It's already been sitting in its one gallon pot for a couple weeks so I hate to pull it up and disturb it. I am repeating what I did with its sister and crossing my fingers. But this darn inflo!

I've had a 50/50 success rate. I would say leave it on for now. It's hard to know at this point which way it will go. I had an Orange Zest from Matt that had an inflo with several flowers blooming before it was ready to pot up out of it's rooting perlite. It's sort of a race to see if it can develop the roots to support the blooms. If you have a grow light of some sort to put it under at night that might give it an extra push.

If leaves are forming along with the inflo, I would leave it. If the energy is solely focused on the inflo after a few weeks, then I would consider cutting.

I wouldn't disturb it if you have potted it up already. You are in Cali and you have a better chance then being in a colder climate.

Just keep an eye on the growth of the leaves...

Here's a picture of a yellow blooming, and it was just pulled from the perlite I was rooting it in.

There are no indicators in the picture you posted the cutting is in trouble. I would leave it too.
