The fireplace was framed out with a plaster finish. I apologize that it took so long for me to reply. Your email came in while I was on vacation then it was buried in the email pile. Hope it helps!

It is an integral color concrete.

Does the plaster go over a fireproof board? I'm curious to how it is applied and to what - thanks?

Is this integral plaster with smooth finish? Does it come in beige color too? will it look nice on a double height ceiling with fireplace off- centered like this one?
Can you suggest some face lift options for this fireplace attached.
    Thanks

Yes, the integral color plaster has a smooth finish. You can get it in just about any color. It would certainly look nice - adding a pop of color - in an off-centered fireplace like the attached. We are not designers - we are builders - so you should look for other suggestions for the fireplace treatment.

I live in Palo Alto and am looking to do my fireplace in a similar manner can you refer me to who did this? Also what is the flooring you used in this room - is it bamboo?

Hi Sarah - Thank you for your inquiry to Allen Construction regarding our Montecito MId-Century project. The fireplace was finished by framing the surround then drywall and plastering. As far as the flooring, yes, it is bamboo. This homeowner replaced the bamboo recently as it did not wear well after a few years. Please let me know if you have any other questions we can help you with.

Allen Construction-you didnt answer the question. What is the green facing on the fireplace? Slate? Marble? quartzite? Thank you
