I'm asking if anyone has experience with this, Crown borers hide in the soil before burrowing into the root crown , i heard insects hate Garlic....more a less a deterrent as opposed to poison......i was asking for help, that's what forum's are about isn't it ?

Greenhorn, garlic sprays have been reported to REPEL certain insects but will not kill them. I doubt very much that garlic is the answer to your problems with either of these insect species. Experimentation is a great thing, as long as the risk is not too high.

I think that gaining a clear understanding of the insects' life cycle will lead you to what has been the most T & T (tried and true) methods. Sharpen your pruners!
