Yucca tree removal

Hello,

Long-time reader (due to home remodeling), first time poster. I've got, what appears to be a yucca tree in my backyard (pics in link below), which is butting into the foundation of the house. That is, the concrete foundation and plastic wall siding panels are clearly pushed in by the base of the tree.

I love the shade and landscaping it provides, but definitely would not jeopardize my home with it. Here's what I believe are my options:

1) Cut it down, and extract the stump and roots. How difficult would this be? How far deep do you think it goes?

2) Cut it down, and hope that it does not expand any further

3) Cut a portion of the base of tree, specifically where it is pushing against the side of the house.

Any thoughts or recommendations on how to manage this tree?
