Our clients brought this up from their home in DC, so I don't know where they originally found it. The one problem I have found with this fireplace, is that because it doesn't have doors to seal it shut from the rest of the house, it isn't terribly efficient - since much of the houses heat can exit through the chimney flue. Having sealed doors allows the beauty of a fire and greatly increased efficiency. Sealed doors prevented this house from receiving a five star energy rating, and in Vermont that means giving up energy efficient tax credits and rebates - effectively leaving cash on the table.
