I just spotted some little black bugs, almost gnat looking that are running around inside of the trunk. Hoping the systemic will wipe these out also :/

For a potted plant I always use neem oil to prevent infestations. Once you have them I would use a Bayer insecticide/soap. The damage to the frond doesn't appear to be from insects. I think you may need more sun for your palm . When is the last time you changed the soil and what kind of soil are you using?

It looks like damage to growing point before leaf emerged.

I agree with Steve, damage happened to the spear. My windmills sometimes do that on one frond after winter, it's some kind of stress almost like the beginning of bud rot and then it grew out of it. Mine always grow out of it, so I wouldn't worry too much. I would be more concerned about the bugs. Try some peroxide in the crown to chase them out/kill them off.
