A lot of the Asian and Indian peppers that are used green aren't hot or very hot until they turn red-get ripe.

Without a picture or a hint of what kind of pepper it was makes it almost impossible to name.
Lots of the peppers that are used green are used un ripe because they are warm to hot when ripe.
Lots of Cayenne type looking green peppers are used before they turn red/ripe.
Small slender is harder to identify...
Maybe a bird pepper?
What was the recipe for?Asian,Latin...?
Not hot might mean mild or sweet, though I doubt it was a sweet pepper-being small.

Less/mild heat could mean a number of different Asian type peppers.

Try seeing if the show has a website- recipe collection.
Most you can search recipes by the particular show or by recipe name.
What show and or recipe was it?

Who cares? This is a forum for hot peppers. Go to vegetables if you want veggies and ask there. They will be glad to help you.

^---.... seriously

Hey Rockguy - unless I missed the universal event that put you in charge, I don't think you get to decide what questions people can ask, what is important to them, or what folks want to plant and such. How about you be nice, or consider going to another forum.

What sworegonjim said.

Yah, I dont see a problem referring someone to a category where they might get more or better response but Sheeeesh, Rockguy, be nice for petes sake. Bell Peppers are just peppers really low on the Scoville scale anyway.

Aint nothing wrong with sweet peppers. Im growing a couple Bell peppers as well as some Pepperoncini for pickling, some Numex Sunrise, Cubanelles, Pimiento's, Anaheims. Another good pepper that im growing which isnt really hot is Hungarian wax.

Its good to have some sweet peppers cause it seems alot of the sweet to medium ones are the ones that grow into some really nice sized meaty peppers that are quite useful in cooking. Dont get me wrong, i got ALOT of hot and superhot peppers growing too ;)

I've always wondered why gardenweb doesn't have a sweet
pepper forum. I love sweet peppers.

Sweet Peppers are just hot peppers with a very low Scoville rating. :)
