Winter Blues in WA

A three week vacation, 33 days of rain, 65 cent primroses and 10 inch containers of big 4 foot houseplants for 11.97 at Walmart! My nursery has lots of stuff to clean up.

And my husband and I have to do it! 25 years ago primroses were 99 cents, minumum wage was half as much as now.

Kinda scary to start up again.

The small operator and Wal-Mart are poles apart. Offer something Wal-Mart doesn't have. There's lots of that.

For horticultural stimulation visit a public conservatory, like the one in Volunteer Park, Seattle, or the big dome (Bloedel Conservatory) on top of the hill (QE Park) in Vancouver, BC. This one even has free-roaming tropical birds.
