You aren't doing anything wrong - those are roots I see in the glass, PLUS - a new root forming on the one stem. Just be patient and let it do it's thing. The cuttings look healthy and good to me.

Hmm, strange. The big brown roots were there before, and exist on all my pothos. But the thin ones might be new. I thought roots were supposed to come out from the bottom of the cutting, but I guess they actually come out above it.

if it were me.. i would experiment .. since you have a few ...

wet some potting media... take one out of water... insert in the wet media ... and stick in a small pot and put it all into a one gal baggie ...

my theory.. you took air roots.. and stuck them in water.. and shocked those roots.. so it is trying to change those roots ... or grow new water roots...

if you had put the air roots into damp but drained soil.. they may have taken off faster ...

when i think of vining tropicals [and i am using the term loosely] ... they hang in the air.. sucking ambient humidity ... they are not aquatics ...

so following its native logic... i would try something other than water..

and its not that water wont work .. its just that some other way may work faster ..

Thanks, that's a good point. Usually I've just used soil for clippings, so this is the first time I've tried to grow roots in water before putting them in soil. Just giving my new rooting formula a whirl. ;)

That is the hard part of propagation, after doing everything right you have to wait.

I would get them into some soil. I have had pothos in aquariums that grow great bundles of roots but when taken out an planted in soil almost all those roots die and the plant starts over again slowly.
