Thank you for the advice. It leads me to another question. The seed tray is on a warming mat. When I place the seed tray under the lights should I keep it on the warming mat or do away with it? I'm so excited that I have seeds starting!!

This is the problem with starting different seeds in the same container. For the seeds that have sprouted they would be better off without the heat, but the peppers need up to 85 degrees for best germination. Your best compromise I think for the next few days keep the heat as well as the light but add some air circulation. The peppers should germinate within a week. Al

Al: Thanks for the advice. I'll put the heat mat back. Being new to this I guess I'll learn from my mistakes. In retrospect I should have done more research into germination rates and conditions. I peeked at some pepper seeds and they look like they may be starting, guess I'll know for sure in a week or so. Thanks again for your advice.
