DMSO is a good solvent. It can be used to dissolve IBA, NAA. However, many people suggest donÂt use it because it can penetrate skin and cell wall so you can absorb toxic chemical in DMSO solution if the solution touches your skin. IBA can also dissolve in alcohol and sodium/potassium hydroxide. If you want to make a rooting gel you can mix IBA with lanolin or mix BA with lanolin to make shooting gel that people use for orchid propagation.
