We once had a wisteria vine on our fence. When we sat in the spa we could hear the long bean seed pods explode. We took the wisteria out when we replaced the fence and would not let is sprout again because it was crowding other plants and forcing boards off the fence. From my experience if you don't round-up or chop the heads off of the seedling it should do fine. I have also read it takes it 3 to 4 years to bloom. Just recently I bought a named vine. I want a really good color and I don't want to wait 3 to 4 years to find out I have a washed out color. Consider the size of the vine and color of your seedling. If you start from seed you might as well get a seed from a vine you love.
