Hmmmm, I hope someone can do better than me. All I can tell is that is looks like a Pepper, of some kind.
Maybe someone can make an ID of those photos but I think you are just going to have to wait to find out for sure.

A long main stalk with little offshoots coming off the bottom? Growth similar to Baccatum pepper varieties.

BUT the leaves and that split pattern look more Chinense.

Hehe, watch it turns out to be a cross between the two, or neither. If i had to bet i'd say a Chinense variety, but it's definitely a healthy pepper plant either way. Looks like you have quite a bit longer till you find out what type. Stop back in a few weeks, we might be able to guess then.

I will definitely keep you all updated! i am excited to see what i got for free! :)

sjetski, I have both chinenses and frutescens that grow in that same pattern, 2 of my bhuts have tall central stems w/ shoots growing out to fill them in ( the other is a total bush) and all three of my tobascoes grow just like that. not saying your wrong just saying @ this point Im only sure that its not a pubescens and not a wild, I am fairly sure its not an annuum, but then there are so many halfbreeds and watered down varieties out there, it could be a pimento bhut jolokia cross who knows, hopefully spongey will keep us posted and we can ferret out the answer to this mystery, I do love a good mystery. OOPs gotta go time for a scooby snack ;)

Spongey we'll probably need a picture of the whole plant.

It'll still be too early to determine the exact type, but we might be able to narrow it down to the Cultivar ie; Frutescens, Baccatum, Chinense, Annuum, Pubescens etc. Though i think i would rule out the Annuums and maybe even Pubescens at this point.

Correction to above, Come to think of it, i'm not sure if we can rule out Annuums and Pubescens at this point.

But a more full pic may lead to a better guess.

its the same plant as the first post i made. i just zoomed in on the flower buds as there are 2-3 growing from the same joint. i am noticing that my choc bhut, and yellow 7 pot are doing the same thing! i am really excited to see what the mystery plant is going to produce!

Nice looking UIC (unidentified chile - improvised abbr. LOL), Eric.

Your plant got the triplets going !!

My Chile de Arbol has 6 or more fruit on most axil points. Been picking them for about 2 weeks steadily in 1/2 cup fulls in 2 or 3 day increments.

Man, I just eat the hottest Anaheim chile I ever tasted.

sjetski, anticipating what you think the mystery chile is. Is having 1,2 or more flowers per axil give clues to ID'ing chile cultivares at all?

Tonio, from what i understand, there are certain types more prone to having more flowers per axil, can't remember which though and i could be wrong. For all i know there may be a lot of types that do that.

The signs seem to be pointing to a Chinense variety imho, that's where i would place my bet.

    Looks Chinense to me, too.
