Rooting in Water

My Grandmother did this all the time. During the summer there was always several jelly jars in her kitchen window with plant cuttings in them. I wish she was around for me to ask about it.

I have an angel wing begonia that I put in my basement over the winter. When I brought it out a while back I cut it back a good bit. I stuck the pieces I cut off in a container of water. So tonight I pulled out several pieces that seemed to have pretty good roots on them and put them in dirt. I watered them really well. So how should I handle them now? Should I keep that dirt really wet for awhile?

TIA!
